Umami

You probably eat umami all the time: it's that meaty, savory, broth-like, full flavor taste we get from things like: parmesan cheese, mushrooms and red wine. Generally speaking, the more "mature" a food is, (say, a parmesan cheese versus a "younger" cheese like mozzarella), the more umami flavor it will have. I have never hear of umami before, I like to drink wine and never knew this was in it.

Conventional wisdom used to tell us that there were only four basic tastes: sweet, sour, salty and bitter. Now, in the last decade, umami has been established as the "fifth" basic taste, and is gaining in popularity and influence. Read more on this umami food item...

Britney Spears out on the town again

Britney was out on the town last night after returning home from spending the weekend with her married boyfriend (who doesn't want anything from her and they are supposedly just friends) in Palm Springs. She supposedly went out for a drive last night without her headlights on, she went to a drug store, then got a flat tire on her new car, then got a lift from her only friends she has these days another paparazzi, then had her car towed away, so she ended up staying in a hotel for the night. Suspect helps police find Woman Hikers Body

Meredith Emerson, 24 was hiking in the mountains on her own with her dog when she dissapeared on new years day. Her body was found on Monday in the North Georgia mountains. The main suspect Gary Michael Hilton was caught in a convencience store in Atlanta and led police to her body. The suspect was very uncooperative in the beginning. He physically led authorities to her body. There is no word on the cause of Meredith's death at the moment. When are women going to realize that it is unsafe at any time to venture out on their own. That's the world we live in today.

Nicole Kidman Pregnant

Nicole Kidman's rep now admits that actress Nicole Kidman is indeed pregnant. The oscar winning aussie who is married to country crooner Keith Urban, has had more than one miscarriage and more than one marriage (Tom Cruise) has dropped out of her film career for the time being as a precaution to any further miscarriages. She dropped out of filming a World war II film "The Reader" which she was supposed to start shooting this month.

Britney Spears in Hospital

Britney spears was brought to emergency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in LA. I can't believe that she is having problems again. She refused to hand her two children, Sean preston and Jayden James over to Kevin Federline's bodygaurds on Thursday night when she was supposed to do that as part of her ongoing custody requirements. Britney's stress over her ongoing problems has caused to lose a lot of weight over the last few weeks. Britney was dazed and despondent when when she arrived at the hospital as if she was on some kind of substance. Her father showed up at the hospital at about 1:15 this morning (Friday).

Police are stationed outside Britney's house keeping the media under control outside her gated home. Imagine on Thursday the Police were on hand, the fire department, and helicopters overhead all for queen Britney.

Meanwhile Kevin Federline is supposed to be outraged about the whole ordeal and her hospital release on Saturday after she had psychic evaluation. In February of 2007, her failed trips to rehab and famous head shaving caused her to drive over to K Fed's house and try to muscle her way into the house to get her two sons.

When is this girl going to get some serious phsychiatric help, (What about Doctor Phil or who I like to call Doctor Feel Good) before she does something drastic or harm herself or someone else?
